“My cards were dealt differently,” Isis, a 22-year-old former receptionist, tells Us Weekly exclusively in its new issue, on newsstands now.

Hailing from Prince George’s County, Maryland, Isis identifies herself as “a woman born physically male.”

Will she be a role model? “I like to help people, but I’m here to follow my dreams,” she tells Us.

The inclusion of Isis is being hailed by GLAAD president Neil Giuliano as “an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television.

“We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible,” Giuliano said.

My opinion- Let the drama begin…this poor girl/boy is going to be talked about and made fun of by the other female contestants, especially is she is good. Let’s hope she’s got the balls to stand up for herself!

The impetus for the stories were two still photos taken at the Cia Maritima fashion show at the end of last week. It was 2006 when Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston, 21, died of anorexia

Kurkova opened and closed the swimwear show, and did a third walk in the middle. That third walk can be seen 7:35 into the below video, and is the look from which the stills were taken.

My opinion: I think it’s sad that the media , especially in Brazil is giving her such a hard time. It’s hard enough being fat in real life but in the fashion world it’s an absolute death sentence to your career and status as a hottie.

But in all fairness, she is too big (in the current photos) to be a Victoria’s Sceret model. Before you rip my head off, understand that in normal everday life Karolina Kurkova ’s current body would be considered slim, sexy, and only in need of slight toning, but in the fashion industry she is a cow (at this size currently) even though it looks like she’s a mere 10-12 pounds heavier than in her other runway ready body pics.

This model is paid HUGE to look perfect according to the industry’s strict standards, that’s why no matter how pretty you are and how great your husband tells you your body looks, there’s a 99.9% chance it’s still not good enough to be runway fashion model. Most models are naturally skinny, this is another advantage of youth because as many models age their metabolism slows down like the rest of us, and some models can no longer stay stick thin.This is why when the industry picks it’s models, it has to be the best of the best. Weight gain and aging are the 2 major no-no’s in high fashion. It’s depressing to hear, but it’s reality. If I was spending millions on a lingerie runway show and one of my models show up with back fat and cellulite I would seriously lose it.

This industry is selling you a fantasy.,and unless your a stunning plus size model like ANTM winner Whitney, you have to BE the product 24/7 until your contract is up. I was very quick to come to her defense until I saw the photos, and when I saw them, I gasped. Just look at the before photos of her then look at the 3 side by side after shots and tell me if YOU wouldn’t be pissed if one of your highest paid models showed up to walk the runway will a jiggly cellulite ass and fat back layers. If your honest you know that would be completely unacceptable.

I do give Karolina serious credit for being so brave to do that walk 3 times during the show, and still maintain a strong prescence on the runway. I can only imagine the snickering and hurtful comments hair stylists, makeup artistst, and others must have been saying within earshot of her. I have worked in this industry and there is zero sympathy or understanding for these things. I hope she drops a few pounds and come back looking better than ever and shut everyone’s mouth up..including mine.

So here are the comparisons. In my opinion all of these actresses look younger than Lindsay Lohan.

 

When I read this latest story on the current insanity that surrounds the fever for Hermes Bags I just said to myself..my readers has to see this. I have to give it to this dork, he was clever enough to “break the Hermes code” and set aside some serious bank with his idea. In addition to that, the apparent shortage of these Birkin bags has  driven the mania for these luxury bags to a ridiculous level. But how screwed up is now that for the rich women  and socialites out there just looking to drop $25,000 or so on a Hermes bag? Now they have to either wait on the 2 year waiting list that Hermes has set for these bags, or crawl through a mind field of bidders hoping to snag one .

How stupid, this is out of control. Crocodile Birkin Bags?? How mean is that? Stella McCartney must be going nuts. Then to add insult to injury, he doesn’t even like the bags!!!
 

The elusive Birkin bag made by Hermes is so sought after as a status symbol by women worldwide that the French fashion house has a two year waiting list for potential owners — or does it?

Michael Tonello, a beautician turned fashion buyer, says he devised a system to bypass the much-talked about list and spent five years traveling between different Hermes stores to snap up Birkin bags to meet — and profit from — this pent-up demand.

Initially he sold them online but then began selling them at a handsome mark-up to wealthy private clients who didn’t want to wait two years, with people aware that Hermes handbags are one of the few brands that hold or increase in value over time.

Tonello said cracking the code let him to buy hundreds of Birkin bags and he is now adamant that the waiting list is just a fantastic marketing ploy. So what was his trick?

“I would go into a store with a list in my Hermes Ulysse notebook and pile up scarves, shawls, bracelets, worth about $2,000. This made me seem a regular Hermes client,” Tonello told Reuters in a telephone interview.

“Once I had that pile ready to buy at the last moment I’d ask for a Birkin and they would usually produce one of the back room. In 2005 I bought 130 Birkins in a three-month period — and you tell me there is a waiting list?”

Tonello, who wrote the book “Bringing Home the Birkin,” released this month, about his Birkin adventures, said he has receipts to back his story.

A spokeswoman for Hermes in Australia, Nicole Morgan, said the company was making no official comment on Tonello’s book.

She said managing requests for handbags, all of which are handmade in Paris, was part of their customer service.

DEALING BAGS LIKE DRUGS

Tonello said there was no other bag with the same allure as the Birkin so it made sense that Hermes would want to retain the mystery of its list and sense of the bag’s scarcity.

“The bag has become the iconic ‘it’ bag, the symbol of ultimate luxury, because of its inaccessibility to the general public. People really want what they can’t have,” said Tonello, an American who lives in Barcelona.

“But I’d travel to different countries, walk into Hermes, use my formula, and get a bag, and return home with six or seven Birkins several times a month. It’s odd to say there is a list when I could walk in and out of nine out 10 stores with a bag.”

The elusiveness of the Birkin has ensured it has remained one of the world’s most coveted bags since Hermes named it after British actress Jane Birkin in 1984, with prices starting at about $9,000 and rising to about $34,000 for a crocodile skin bag.

Birkins are regularly spotted on the wrists of glamorous celebrities, such as Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, and “Desperate Housewives” actress Eva Longoria.

But Tonello said he began to feel like a drug dealer after a while spent Birkin trading.

“I kept notes on which stores I went in, when and what I bought, and I wouldn’t repeat a store for six months,” he said.

“In the store in Paris I went in maybe once too often and they checked the computer and discovered how many bags I had bought. They sent me a fax saying essentially they would no longer sell me any bags.”

He has now given up trading bags — and doesn’t miss it.

“I don’t like the bag. In all honesty I don’t think it is very practical as it’s time-consuming to get in and out of and the bag is rather heavy, even empty,” he said.

Well, after days and nights of watching nearly every Blu-ray disc and Oscar telecast we could get our hands on to pick out the celebs who don’t fare well in HD, we found a few doozies. We also talked to Phillip Swann, president of HD news site TVPredictions. who has been analyzing the high def experience and mailing lists of who looks great and who looks awful in HD for years. Here’s what we found.

Cameron Diaz-

“Once upon a time Cameron Diaz was regarded as one of the most beautiful women on the planet,” says Swann. And who among the male population didn’t agree after seeing her in ‘There’s Something About Mary’ and ‘Charlie’s Angels?’ Well, unfortunately for Cameron, things changed with better picture quality. On last year’s HD Oscar telecast, her puffy cheeks and dark-circled eyes stuck out; this year was no exception, as Diaz also looked a wee bit tired and overly tanned in the Academy Awards HD telecast. “She’s had acne issues since high school, a lot of pock marks on her face and it’s really visible in high def,” says Swann. Perhaps that’s why her biggest role these days is the voice of Princess Fiona from ‘Shrek’.

Britney Spears

It’s obvious now that she’s a disaster, but a few short years ago, Britney Spears was still at the top of the hottest celebrity lists. “In 2004, she was in HD for the first time during a concert from Miami,” says Swann. “I thought she would look great but she looked horrible . Her skin was ruddy, she had a lot of wrinkles. She looked like a 24-year-old going on 34.” The same sorts of unflattering features were undiscernable on the fuzzy, grainy standard-definition broadcast of the same concert, like so much celebrity airbrushing.

Brad Pitt

Though men in Hollywood are allowed, unfairly, to age more gracefully than women, many male stars are affected by HD in that the subtle facial indicators that reveal personalities are more apparent. George Clooney, for example, comes across as very natural. “His face is very relaxed and unlined for a guy in his mid-’40s, and his charisma just shows through,” says Swann. Unfortunately, the same isn’t true for his ‘Ocean’s’ series costar, Brad Pitt. According to Swann, “He’s had acne issues over the years, so you can see those pock marks in high def. The other thing is he’s always had this vacant-eyed look on his face and in high def it’s real clear.” Still, how many women would really care?

Steven Tyler

Many musicians prefer to age naturally, often spurning surgery and makeup just because they don’t care. Even some of the harder partiers – Keith Richards, for example – don’t seem concerned with how they’ll look in HD. But then there are ones like Steven Tyler, who try to retain their youth but end up looking worse. “I see him in high def and I think of the Aerosmith song, ‘Dude, Looks Like a Lady,’” says Swann. “He’s had some weird work done on his lips so it looks more feminine, more like Liv than Steven.” In contrast, Paul McCartney has aged well and is flattered by the HD cameras. Says Swann, “I’m not saying he looks like he’s 30, but he looks younger than his years in high def. It’s clear he does a lot to look younger and it has its benefits.” So, rock stars, it’s time you’re influenced by the former Beatle in a whole new way.

Brady Green, according to a criminal complaint, has followed Banks from coast to coast since January, sent her letters and flowers, and tried to telephone her. Last week he was issued a court order requiring him to leave her alone.

Green, of Dublin, Ga., was arrested when he showed up several times March 18 at the Manhattan building where “The Tyra Banks Show” is taped and asked to speak to her, a misdemeanor complaint filed in Criminal Court says.

Banks also hosts the CW reality show “America’s Next Top Model.”

The complaint says building custodian Edward Troiano told police Green also had appeared at Banks’ Los Angeles studio “on multiple occasions” and asked to speak to her. He said Green had sent her letters and flowers there and had tried to reach her there by telephone at least five times, the complaint says.

Banks, 34, told police that Green’s actions had caused her to fear that she was in danger.

Police charged Green, 37, with stalking, criminal trespass and harassment. After his arraignment last Wednesday on the charges, Criminal Court Judge Anthony Ferrara released him without bail and ordered him to return to court May 13.

A telephone call to Green’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned Monday.

The New York Post said the Chelsea studio staffers were worried about Green returning. The paper said they were handing out photos of Green on Friday with a warning to stay away from him.

Prosecutors said they did not have an address for Green, who likely could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Why is it almost everytime I see a Bond movie the bond girls are always European? Every now and then you see an asian or black woman, and even less than that you see an American woman. I guess I’m taking this hard because I am absolutely in lust with Daniel Craig, and damn it I want an American, someone I can relate to to be a bond diva! Somebody better back me up on this!

Olga Kurylenko is absolutely stunning, when I watched her in that awful movie Hitman I found myself thinking what a great Bond girl she would make. Now the lucky bitch has got MY man! Oh well, C’est La Vive!

On this Elle cover she kind of looks like a younger, and even hotter version of Catherine Zeta Jones, who is also quite beautiful on her own. Olga just seems to have the it factor when it comes to giving you pure face. I feel she will go far, maybe not as a serious actress, because so far her acting sucks , but I have a feeeling this model will be very busy, especially after the Bond movie.Kurylenko has been chosen to play the lead Bond girl in the new movie, the working title of which is ‘Bond 22′.
Kurylenko currently resides in Paris. She was discovered 14 years at the age of 15 by model scouts in Moscow. Since then she has appeared on the covers of top fashion magazines US Glamour, French Elle and Marie Claire.
