Costello Tagliapietra Bearded Brooklyn Designers

This dynamic bearded duo is the latest hit in the fashion design industry. Jeffrey Costello started by designing clothing for actresses and musicians, then met up with partner, native New Yorker, and Parsons alum, Robert Tagliapietra; together they founded Costello Tagliapietra. Both were taught the art of tailoring by their grandmothers, who, coincidentally, had both worked for Norman Norell in the 1960s.(source courtesy nymag.com)

Costello Tagliapietra Fur Faced Dynamic Duo Designers
If you walked past these 2 guys on the street you may mistake them for nerdy lumberjacks. The pair sports full “man-fur beards”, and proudly rocks plaid shirts and acid wash jeans, so to see them create some of the most delicate and beautiful dresses for women clearly seperates these two from the newest crop of fad designers. It’s exciting to see what they can come up with next.

The pair is known for creating beautifully tailored dresses, constructed jackets, and coats in muted tones, plus an attention to detail both inside and out, with a focus on the draping of fabric that’s finished with bound edges and French seams. Visit Site to view their current collection and previous collections. This is high fashion with realistic wearability. This years collection seems to echo the looks from the 20’s and 30’s Dust Bowl Era. Of course this is done with much more color, and taste.
