Milan Men’s Fashion Week

This one’s for the ladies. Gorgeous male models all lined up and looking pretty. Leave it to Armani so leave my mouth trembling for more. As I glanced through the runway shots of these studly fashion beefcakes I saw countless hits and a few misses. Like this Turkish pajama getup that Armani seemed to be in love with, very confusing. Also, I was so feeling the saucy tanned male model wearing those oh so sexy DSquared2 tiny black speedos but then I noticed a thick patch of pubic hair over the top of the shorts and the hotness was ruined. Pubic hair just doesn’t mix well with high fashion.

David Beckham is so my boyfriend

Does it get an hotter than this? David is so fine, so sexy, and easy on the eyes. That’s why I am perplexed as to what he see’s in Posh Spice. I have a few theories on their marriage but I will still mum for now. For all you haters that think my theory is that David Beckham is gay, you can squash that , because I truly don’t believe that for a second. I am slightly turned off by his girl man voice, I mean it’s so weird looking at this sexy hunk that can make any woman weak at the knees, and then he opens his mouth to speak and it’s like..what the hell? He has one of the softest voices I have ever heard on a male athlete, and besides being married to Victoria Beckham, I see that as his only flaw. Guess what people, I can live with the girl voice if it means making this stud my boy toy! Read the full story

Yves Saint Laurent fashion to be auctioned off

This photo provided by Christie\'s auction house shows an Yves Saint Laurent cut-out floral necklace from Spring/Summer 1990 with an estimated selling price of $1,000-1,500. A month after the death of Yves Saint Laurent, Christie\'s is auctioning seven pieces of the legendary French fashion designer\'s clothing and jewelry, including this necklace, representing nearly every decade of his career. (AP Photo/Christie\'s Images LTD.) Photo Credit: AP Photo NEW YORK — A month after the death of Yves Saint Laurent, Christie’s is auctioning seven pieces of the legendary French fashion designer’s clothing and jewelry representing nearly every decade of his career.

The items at the July 2 auction include a 1958 cocktail dress for Dior and a 1970s Rive Gauche camel cable-knit sweater trimmed in fox fur similar to one Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis wore.

“What’s exciting about the collection is that you see the progression of his career. He was a real style-setter,” said Christie’s couture specialist Laura Leyfer.

Saint Laurent died on June 1 at age 71. Considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, his creations _ from pop-art print mini-dresses to peasant skirts and elegant pantsuits _ endure to this day.

The cable-knit sweater _ with a pre-sale estimate of $250 to $400 _ is a version of one Onassis was often photographed wearing, a style she owned in several colors, according to Christie’s auction catalog.

All of the items are in excellent condition and are relatively inexpensive because they aren’t new designs and have been worn, Leyfer said Friday. “That’s part of the appeal and it’s what makes it a collectible,” she said.

Another item for sale is a dusty pink layered tulle evening dress with metallic pink and silver embroidery, which Saint Laurent designed for Dior in 1958. It’s could fetch $1,000 to $1,500.

The costume jewelry includes a floral gold-tone metal and crystal stone necklace from 1990, estimated to sell for $1,000 to $1,500, and a hammered gilt-metal “ethnic” necklace from the 1970s that could bring $600 to $800.

The sale also includes pieces from other designers including Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler, Balenciaga and Gianni Versace. Source

Badgley Mischka’s Cruise 2009

I just adore long romantic getaway cruises, and there isn’t anything more stylish you can wear while your on one than Badgley Miscka’s Cruise 2009 line. Look at the endless mediterranean blues and shimmering golds and silvers featured in this collection., these colors and remind of the movie Troy for some reason. Remember those stunning shades of turquoise, sea greens and cobalt blue that were featured in the clothing in that movie? I just love this line because it makes me want to go on a cruise , kick back in my Badgley Mischka swimsuit on the top deck sipping on frozen pina coladas, while reading Italian Vogue.

I really need a vacation. I also really need this stunning red number featured in the gallery below. How do these make this look so beautiful?? I adore every single last piece in this collection. Hands down it’s one of the best Cruise collections I’ve seen in years.

Sometimes Cruise, or Resort, collections have little to do with warm weather vacations in exotic locals during the cold winter months following the purchase of one’s fall wardrobe – it’s simply a retail signifier that new merchandise will be hitting the floor pre-spring.

But Badgley Mischka’s Cruise 2009 collection, which designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka presented on Tuesday afternoon, June 10, during an intimate runway show in their New York office, epitomized glamour on the high seas, particularly the kind that might be found sunbathing on a yacht in a Riviera harbor circa 1955.

Grace Kelly and her mid-fifties films “Mogambo” and “To Catch a Thief” inspired the collection, said Badgley, but a disco-era Grace - Jones, that is, would be another apt comparison, with all the criss-cross chiffon halter neck and lamé gowns making up the bulk of the duo’s signature pieces. The collection’s daywear section opened with a series of tropical prints in lush colors like jade, grape and mango adorning a cowl neck chiffon dress, a bikini and a raincoat. Smart, tailored safari jackets followed, along with a couple of leopard print pieces.

Eveningwear, Badgley Mischka’s mainstay, was less focused, with looks ranging from bohemian caftan-like dresses to empire-waisted chiffon gowns in citrusy colors on the warm end of the color wheel to the aforementioned disco dolly numbers, but when you’re dressing stars for the red carpet, variety isn’t a bad thing.

Albania Fashion Day

Some snapshots from  Albanian designer Rezarta Skifteri. I hate to point this out but some of these dresses look a lot like a less impressive twist on old school John Galliano. Remember that hot sliced up number Courtney Love wore to the 2000 Golden Globes? Some of Skifteri’s designs seems eerily familiar.  I don’t see anything that I would personally wear. The collection looks dated, like something you would see in a James Bond movie from the early 90’s. Maybe one shouldn’t expect too much from Albania when it comes to high fashion. Enjoy the photos.

Eco friendly fashion, nice idea or tacky?

Everyone seems to be going green lately, and it seems to be the right way to go now that we know so much about global warming and recycling. But is this new trend wearable without looking strange and cheap ? Can it actually look chic? Here are some snapshots of FutureFashion’s Organizers Rally A-List Designers to the Eco Cause. Tommy Hilfiger introduces TommyTV.com

U.S. fashion company Tommy Hilfiger and music group Sony BMG teamed up on Wednesday to launch a fashion and music online TV website, a latest sign of ever closer union of the world’s of style and song. I totally loved the site, and the first introduction video is an outstanding performance of one of my favorite bands Faithless doing a live version of their hit Insomina. I was instantly impressed by the site and the music featured on it.

Here is the story from Reuters….
