Cheers to America’s Next Top Model for looking good again. Tyra Banks’ reality staple had seemingly reached the end of its creative runway, but the 11th cycle has proven surprisingly fierce. Casting the transgendered Isis could’ve been a stunt, but she’s an intriguing competitor, and the impressively diverse field ranges from a wide-eyed but small-minded Alaskan (Hannah) to a tattooed, sexually ambiguous Angelina Jolie lookalike (Elina). This is something I think is long overdue. For the month of July, Italian Vogue will be featuring 4 different covers all with black models, and all of the editorial features will focus on black women in the arts and entertainment industry. Amazing! This has never before been seen from such a huge fashion magazine, and it doesn’t get any bigger than Vogue. I am going to personally suscribe to Italian Vogue from now on since reading this story. To date I only susbcribe to the American Vogue, maybe they can learn a thing or to from this fantastic story. Even though it does cost $265.52 for 12 issues, I think it’s more than worth it. Plus I’ll save a few dollars every month as opposed to buying from NYC City news stands. Read the full story

I was shocked and disappointed that Fatima did not win, I truly believed that is should have been down to Fatima and Anya, but I am happy for Whitney. It’s not just the obvious importance of a beautiful plus sized woman winning for the first time, but she has a great personality and I think it’s important for her to be seen and adored to show the world that high fashion isn’t just for the emaciated stick figures that dominate the runway.

No one doubts that Fatima and Anya will not  have too hard of a time finding work because they both truly do look and photograph like high fashion models. They are two of the closest ANTM contestants that has ever seemed to be  fashion magazine quality models. I think Whitney’s beauty, confidence and personality is why she won, because even with all that I do believe she should have been second place tops because the other two were so runway ready from the moment the entered the competition. The most annoying thing about Anya was her accent. I know Hawaiians speak very differently then the rest of us over here in the mainland, but she better thank God that she has an amazing personality and stunning beauty because her  accent is weird and extremely draining to listen to.

Was it just me or did Paulina seem bitchy in the finale episode? She told Anya she looked dumb and she was quite condescending towards Whitney’s photos in panel. Maybe it was that time of the month or pre-menepousal angst, but I wasn’t feeling the tude at all. She just seemed bitter, maybe she was pissed because Fatima got axed, she was always drooling over her, like me. Fatima is simply stunning.

So congratulations Whitney, you worked hard and I hope she enjoy’s the $100,000 prize. I hope that they don’t stick her in some tacky Lane Bryant type of print ad, I want to see an actual top model do some real ad campaigns, and since she is a plus sizer maybe this can be the start of something new. Take caution stick figures, you’ve got a real woman, with real curves, and a perfect face breathing down your back!

NEW YORK - A man charged with stalking Tyra Banks has been ordered to stay away from the talk-show host or face going to jail.

Brady Green, according to a criminal complaint, has followed Banks from coast to coast since January, sent her letters and flowers, and tried to telephone her. Last week he was issued a court order requiring him to leave her alone.

Green, of Dublin, Ga., was arrested when he showed up several times March 18 at the Manhattan building where “The Tyra Banks Show” is taped and asked to speak to her, a misdemeanor complaint filed in Criminal Court says.

Banks also hosts the CW reality show “America’s Next Top Model.”

The complaint says building custodian Edward Troiano told police Green also had appeared at Banks’ Los Angeles studio “on multiple occasions” and asked to speak to her. He said Green had sent her letters and flowers there and had tried to reach her there by telephone at least five times, the complaint says.

Banks, 34, told police that Green’s actions had caused her to fear that she was in danger.

Police charged Green, 37, with stalking, criminal trespass and harassment. After his arraignment last Wednesday on the charges, Criminal Court Judge Anthony Ferrara released him without bail and ordered him to return to court May 13.

A telephone call to Green’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned Monday.

The New York Post said the Chelsea studio staffers were worried about Green returning. The paper said they were handing out photos of Green on Friday with a warning to stay away from him.

Prosecutors said they did not have an address for Green, who likely could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

I’m so happy one of my favorite shows is back! America’s Next Top Model has slowly grown on me. Like most I was pretty skeptical of the show and the realness of the actual prize and title, “America’s Next Top Model”, since no model has ever acheived any serious status in the modeling industry. But the show is so much fun, there’s good, bad, and ugly characters that makes you want to jump through the tv and give a verbal beat down to some of these silly model wannabes. Read the full story

Make way for the newest crop of girls who want to be on top.
Tyra Banks and Co. have selected the 14 finalists who will stand before the former cover girl when the 10th cycle of “America’s Next Top Model” kicks off Feb. 20, the CW said Thursday.

This season of the CW’s highest-rated series finds the aspiring catwalkers, who fall between the ages of 18 and 24, starting off in New York instead of Los Angeles, now that Banks tapes her syndicated talk show from the Big Apple. Read More

Man I love this photos. The girls are killing it in this one! This show gets better and better each season!

In addition to the change of scene, Paulina Porizkova has replaced Twiggy as the judging panel’s requisite former supermodel. The Czech beauty will be joined by the usual suspects—Banks, runway expert J. Alexander and lensman Nigel Barker.

I am quite happy about this, because I was kind of sick of Twiggy. I think this replacement was a smart move. Paulina Porizkova still looks incredible! I wonder if she’s still married to that thin faced man from The Cars?

Tyra still knows how to take a great photo. She truly cannot do any wrong when she’s in front of the camera. Of course there is plenty of photoshop action going on, but she still works it like no other.
