Style Off. Beyonce VS Rihanna

Two of the hottest celebrities on the planet Beyonce and Rihanna has always been known for their sexy style  trendsetting clothes, and jet set lifetsyle, but which one is the most stylish of them all? Let’s see.

This one is tough, but I would have to go with Beyonce’s album cover because it not only looks high fashion, but it’s sexy and much more visually appealing than Rihanna’s.

Rihanna looks stunning with curly hair but for the second time I have to give this one to Beyonce. Curly hair with Rihanna’s forehead isn’t necessarily flattering but she still is a knokout. When Beyonce wears curly hair is looks more natural and frames her stunning face well.

Rihanna gets my pick with this look. Most people are used to seeing Beyonce with extremly long weaves and lacefront wigs which she has help make very popular. Rihanna takes more chances and she looks like a goddess with this beautiful straight black sleek hair and white low cut dress. Beyonce’s waist length light blonde hair is beautiful but nothing new.

I would have to say this one is a tie. This retro old Hollywood look compliments both starlets and makes it impossible to decide who wore it better. Here is a classic example of how Rihanna’s forhead can actually enhance her beauty depending on how her hair ,makeup, and clothes is styled.

When it comes to taking chances Rihanna is the clear winner. She takes full advantage of different hair styles and colors and isn’t afraid to go short. It is nearly impossible to find a photo of Beyonce with a shoulder length or chin length bob, or anything even close. Although Beyonce clearly takes chances with many other aspects of her style, she almost never takes chances with her hair and makeup like Rihanna does. This photo of Beyonce with dark hair was one of the  few drastic hair color changes she has made in a while, she just can’t let go of the super long hair. Rihanna owns this one.

I’m giving this one to Rihanna yet again not because I prefer her in anyway,  I think Beyonce is more talented and sexier overall. In my opinon Rihanna represnts high fashion and urban chic more than Beyonce does only for again, SHE TAKES RISKS. No one can hold a candle to Beyonce when she is drenched in diamonds in a Versace gown on the red carpet, and she clearly has iconic sex appeal and beauty, but Rihanna represents to me what’s hot right now, and  her body type , ability to morph into other radical looks sets her apart and is more stylish and a natural at setting trends.

The winner is Rihanna, sorry Bey.

How to shop for vintage fashion

The seasoned bargain-hunter and style journalist Bay Garnett shares her tips for buying second-hand clothes

DON’T BE FOOLED Essentially, ‘vintage’ is just another name for second-hand clothing, but it’s a label that has been adopted by the fashion industry to make it sound more exclusive and aspirational, like ‘vintage champagne’. In other words, expensive! Yes, antique flapper dresses from the 1920s and original Ozzie Clarke designs are beautiful, but the joy of finding something that’s ‘one of a kind’ needn’t be so costly.

BE OPEN MINDED If your funds don’t stretch to antique 1920s flapper dresses and classic Balenciaga, try ‘thrifting’, or charity-shop rummaging instead. It takes a little more effort, but the results can be far more fun and affordable. And although today’s environmental concerns weren’t such an issue 15 years ago when I first started thrifting, the turnover rate of clothes has now become so rapid that there’s something refreshing about stepping outside of it occasionally.
MOST WANTED LIST The key to a successful expedition is to go with a tangible piece in mind, otherwise the whole thing becomes too daunting. Chloe Sevigny is my favourite person to go thrifting with. There are some fantastic thrift stores in her hometown in Connecticut, and she’d begin every trip with ‘So, what are you looking for?’ If you go in blank, it’s much harder to feel inspired.

ACCESSORIZE If you’re still a bit squeamish about second-hand clothes, start with accessories. Bags, belts and scarves instantly refresh an outfit, and are easily incorporated into your everyday wardrobe. A shop’s accessories are a good indicator of the rest of the stocks

FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCT My most treasured find is a studded punk belt from the seventies that I found in a downtown New York charity shop, and fell in love with on the spot. I didn’t have a single penny on me, but I’d gone in to pick up the sales money from a magazine I write called Cheap Date - it wasn’t very professional of me, but after a bit of bargaining they kept the money and I took the belt.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS Build up a suitcase of ideas whenever you go shopping and come up with your own list of thrifting rules - I automatically pounce on anything leopard-print or patent. Steer clear of anything stained rather than just a little grubby and always pay attention to the fabric. Nylon or polyester is an instant veto

PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS Look out for little details that lift a piece and make it part of a bigger style picture- a little lace edging round the cuffs, a great set of buttons or a fantastic loud print. The key is to imagine them out of the bargain bin and in the context of your own wardrobe.

HAVE PATIENCE Thrifting requires a different attitude from regular shopping. You need to be in a more relaxed frame of mind. Try church fetes or second-hand markets and pop into charity shops regularly for a quick browse - choose upmarket districts if you’re after designer labels. Nine times out ten you won’t find anything, but the tenth might unearth a real gem of a piece.

Celebrities With Fantastic Hair

zoe_saldana.jpgOMG breaks down a killer list of 31 beautiful celebrity coifs. The list includes, Kate Winslet, Hayden Panettiere, Selma Hayek, Dita Von Teese, Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie, Vanessa Williams, and much more. The list ends with Beyonce which to me is not very fair since she almost always wears weaves, and lace front wigs. I know she has beautiful hair underneath all that stuff, and I love her wigs and weaves, but I don’t think she deserves to be listed as a celeb with great hair since it’s not hers. I’m also not sure about Reese being listed on there either . I mean, she has nice hair, but I don’t see whats so special about it.

Anywho, I love this site OMG because it gives tons of great photos and up to the minute celeb trash that keeps me reading for hours!!! Check out the list and see for yourself.
